Maffeo Sutton Accessible Playground

Maffeo Sutton Park is a popular destination along the downtown Nanaimo waterfront. Lanarc’s team led the design for playground upgrades following design an integrated approach with the City of Nanaimo and Habitat Systems Inc.
The park development is divided into multiple phases and included; two reimagined universally accessible playground phases; a picnic area with harvest tables and an event stage; and a pump track and nature play area. The design also involves collaboration with local Snuneymuxw artists for entry features and integrated art.
